ious accident happened last week at Her-
man Oeatreicher's. It appears that Guen-
ther Bros were thrashiug for him, and
when Mr. Oestreicher hitched his team to
the engine to draw it to a neighbores, the
horses became frightened and ran away,
upsetting the engine and smashing it con-
siderably. Had Mr 0. not leb go of the
lines when he did the probability is he
would have sustained serious injury. -
Last week Alittleholtz'a bull gored John
Smith's horse ana the animal died aa a
consequence. We understand that the
parties have effected a settlement by ar-
bitration, Mittleholtz paying $50 damages.
-Two of our boys had a lively fight at o
thrashing the other day. We understand
that some cooler heads interfered, but dur
ing the time it lasted there was consider-
able damage done, It appears they used
finger nails and did more execution than
an expert could with a. curry comb. Not

eating each other ; and it will be a fortun
ate thing if some amputating will not be
necessary --Isaac Hill has returned from
Manitoba and reports the country in a

and if nothing -unusual turns up the farm-

need not go there and expect to pick up $
bills, but must eworit ; and if he does he
will make a good living. The misty who
have moved from Dakota to Manitoba are
