Castration of Lambs.
It bas been frequently urged upon the
farmers of Canada the necessity for the cas-
tration of lambs. Many of them do not
realize the importanoo of the matter. Dro-
vers who go from farm to farm should use
their influence is this direction. The fel-
lowing letter from Mr. J, D. Matheson, of
Woodstock, who has for many years been a
live stock salesman on the _Buffalo market,
should be republished in all the Canadian
papers and every live stool: dealer should
Derry a copy in his hat to road:to farmers.
Mr. Matheson writes :
As the Canadian, lamb season will soon
begin, we wish to draw the attention et
farmers and dealers of Ontario to n t
that las been adopted by the dealers on tl.i3
merkr't, 1s1.Init l' of e,l•oat lmpertenee l:
them, It is in regard to the castration of
lambs, and as it is the intention of dealers
to enforce a difference of one cent per pound
between ram lambs and ewe and wether
!ambo, in favor of the latter, we hope you
will give this letter sufficient prominence so
that it will be copied by all local journals
throughout Ontario, so that this foot can be
fully brought to the notice at the farmers in
time and thereby enable them to save
thousands of dollars by having all their ram
lamba castrated that they intend for the
market.
We have always advocated the castration
of lambs, knowing that it would be beneficial
to all in the trade,aa ram lambs have always
been a drug on the market anti very diffi.oult
to dispose of, bat, as the limners have
seemingly ignored our advice, the dealers
here have taken this action to protect thom-
selves, and as the castration is a 'very simple
matter, se hope that the farmers of Ontario
wilt sec the benefits to be derived by doing
it, as their lambs will thrive better, will be
more saleable and will always be in demand.
TOURISTS.
Whether on pleasure bent or business,
should take on every trip a bottle of Syrup
of Figs, as it acts most pleasantly and effec-
tually on the kidneys' livorond bowels; pre-
venting fevers, headaches and other forms
of sickness. _For sale in 75 cent bottles by
all leading druggists.

IT LOAbs TlrE LEVI-AIM—The foremost
medicine of the ,lay, Burdock Blood Bitters
is a purely vegetable compound possoseiug
perfect regulating powers over all the organs
of the system and controlling their setre-
tatione. It so purifies the blood that it cures
all blood humors and disease frorn a com-
mon pimple to the worst scrofntone sore,
and this combined with its unrivalled regn•
lation, cleansing and purifying influence on
the secretions of the liver, kidneys, bowels
and sisiu, render it unequalled as a cure for
all diseases of the skin. From one to two
bottles will cure boils, pimples, blotches,
nettle rash, ecruf, totter, and all the simple
forms of skin disease, From two to four
bottles will care salt Mourn or eczema,
shingles, erysipelas, ulcers, abscesses, run-
ning sores, and all skin eruptions. It is
noticeable that sufferers from skin diseases
are nearly aggravated by intolerable Helaine
but this quickly subsides on the removal of
the disease by B. B. B. Passing on to gra-
ver yet prevalent diseases such as scrofula
swellings, humors and scrofula, we have
undoubted proof that from three to six bot-
tles used internally and by outward appli•
cation (diluted if the skin is broken) to the
affected parts, will affect a Cure. The great
mission of B. 1i• B. is to regulate the liver,
kidneys, bowels and blood, to correct acidity
and wroug action of the steniaohe and to
open the sluice.ways of the system to oar•
ry off all clogged and impure secretions,
allowing nature thus to aid recovery and
remove without fail bad blood, liger com-
