formed in the Retirement
Home Lounge Friday
evening, Nov. 1. They
have a standing invitation
to entertain the first
Friday evening of every
month and residents
always look forward to
seeing them.

led worship at Queensway
Nov. 5 and Lay Pastor Pat
Dobb officiated Nov. 12.
Staff and residents
together held the church
service Nov. 19 with a
devotional led by staff and
hymn singing accompa-
nied by volunteer pianist
Isabel Rodgerson of the
retirement home.
On Nov. 10 Babe
McGregor’s family hosted
an open house in celebra-
tion of her 90th birthday.
Friends and family filled
the activity area to help
celebrate the occasion.

played a selection of
wartime music for the
Remembrance Day pro-
gram Nov. 11.
Information and poems
honouring veterans was
shared and at 11 a.m. one
minute of silence was
observed.

Fellowship Singers.
Women of the Bethel
Reformed Church have
provided assistance and
prizes for bingo games
each Monday in
November and residents
have also benefitted from
Fun & Fitness, music
therapy, games and visits
from St. Johns
Ambulance pet therapy
dogs.

CLINTON - The Computer Training
Academy in Clinton and the Avon
Maitland Adult Learning Centres are
proud to announce a new partnership
formed to provide certificate pro-
grams for those seeking employment
in the world of computers. The part-
nership enhances the ability of the
Adult Learning Centres in Huron and
Perth Counties to offer a broad, com-
prehensive menu of skills-based on-
line learning programs. It will also
allow the Computer Training
Academy ito fulfil its mission of pro-
moting computer skills in a rural set-
ting.
Initially, the partnership will pro-
vide the new industry Internet and
Computing Core Certification pro-
gram (IC3) at all Adult Learning
Centres in the district, including
Wingham, Exeter, Goderich, and
Stratford.
IC3 is a global-based certification
program for basic computing and
Internet literacy. Successful comple-
tion of IC3 ensures individuals have
the knowledge and skills to be pro-
ductive users of computer hardware,
software networks and the Internet.
Certiport Inc. developed IC3 over a 2-
year period as the leading provider of
global, performance-based certifica-
tion programs. IC3 was designed to
enable individual learners the oppor-
tunity for advancement in computer
technology through certification. As
the exclusive worldwide provider of
the Microsoft Office Specialist pro-
gram, Certiport is also responsible for
certification programs using the
Microsoft Office suite of products.
The program provides for enrol-
ment at any time along with self-
paced study. It uses a combination of
techniques to make the students’
progress fast and straightforward.
IC3 certification is obtained through
passing an exam in each of the three
study areas – Computing
Fundamentals, Key Applications and
Living On-line.
IC3 provides an ideal opportunity
for continuing education students,
adult learners, employees from any
sector and small business owners.
In fact, anyone looking to gain or
upgrade their knowledge of comput-
ers and the Internet will benefit from
this highly acclaimed program.
