Public school volleyball tournament
On Nov. 15 public school volleyball teams from Zurich, Hensall, Stephen,
Exeter,and Usborne faced off for a tournament at the South Huron District High
School.The boys ‘A’ level final featured Stephen Central defeating Exeter for the

Shawn Sherwood sets up for the Exeter Hawks against
Mitchell Nov.22.The Hawks rolled over the visitors 10-4
with Sherwood getting three points It was a close game
going into the third period, until Exeter broke it open
with six goals in a 13 minute span,including 2 shorthand-
ed goals 26 seconds apart. Jeff Finkbeiner led the attack
with three goals and an assist while Jon Keys also had
three points.It was the most goals Exeter has scored this
season,as they improved their record to a league leading
14 and 4. Exeter’s only letdown was in the second peri-
od, being out-scored three to two, despite out-shooting
the opposition 14-8.The Hawks will have a busy week-
end with a pair of home games against Thamesford and
Port Stanley Fri. and Sat. night. Nov. 29 will be the first
school night at the Hawks game this year with proceeds
from the chuck-a-puck going to Zurich Public School
