ZURICH CORRESPONDENT
ZURICH - Be sure to attend the
Agricultural Society's annual meeting
Nov. 28 at the Hay Township Hall begin-
ning with a potluck dessert social at 7:30
p.m. Members are reminded to bring
along $4 for dues and their committee
reports from last year’s fair. Everyone is
welcome to attend.
It is soon time for the big "Lighted
Christmas Parade" in Zurich on Dec. 1
starting at the Zurich Public School at 6
p.m. Come out early to get a good spot to
watch it. Also bring along a canned good
item (or two) for the Food Bank at
Blessings Store. The parade theme is:
"Just an Old Fashioned Christmas." If you
want to enter a float call Vicki Wilder

or Delores Gingerich 236-4934.
Following the parade, children can see
Santa at the arena, then watch an excit-
ing fund-raiser hockey game. Cost is $5
for adults at the door. The game starts at
7:45 p.m. Bring along a warm blanket to
sit on. It sounds like a fun-filled evening.
Dress warmly and plan to attend. The
parade is organized by the Village
Prosperity Committee.
Congratulations to Dot and Jim Bonvie
of Zurich on the arrival of their fourth
child, a baby girl, Morgan Ann, born Nov.
20.
Students at St. Anne's High School in
Clinton are taking orders for fresh cut
Christmas trees as a fund-raising project
for the Rugby team to go to England in
March. If you would like one, call Justin
Soudant in Zurich 236-4874 before Nov.
30.
There will be a Christmas social for all
the minister helpers at both St. Boniface
and St. Peter's Churches Nov. 29 with a
pot luck supper starting at 6 p.m. at St.
Peter's Parish Hall. Meet our new priest,
Father Thomas.
The Lions Club is again holding meat
draws and a 50/50 draw at the Dominion
Tavern in Zurich every Saturday from 1
p.m. -3 p.m. during the winter months.
Everyone is welcome to take part.
Martha Neeb of London treated her
mother, Ina Neeb of the Maplewoods
Apartments to an early Christmas gift
recently by going to see the Elvis Stoyko
Skating Show at the new John Labatt's
Centre in London on Nov. 16.
Mike and Dianne Miller and family of
St. Joseph attended the Sound of Music
play in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, on Nov.
17. Their friend, Tim Reinman, played
Captain Von Trapp.
St. Boniface Catholic Women's League
held their monthly meeting Nov. 19.
President Joan Regier thanked everyone
for helping at the Deanery meeting and
Bazaar in our parish. Henrica Masse
gave the treasurer's report and Mary
Ducharme read the minutes of the last
meeting. Carolyn Mathonia read the cor-
respondence. Reports were given by
Bella Soudant, Evelyn Regier, Patti Hunt,
Jeannette Regier and Carmel Sweeney.
Shut-in gifts will be delivered in
December. A motion was made to donate
$200 to the Sunday School class and to
have a Chalice re-done. The Knights of
Columbus will also pay for one. Thanks to
Bella Soudant for making a new altar
cloth for the chapel in the Blue Water
Rest Home. A cheque for $500 was
received from Blessings.
There is a box at the back of the church
to collect toys for the Christmas Bureau.A
new kitchen convenor is required.
Guest speaker, Penny Watson showed
members how to make a beautiful
Christmas arrangement. Helen Regier
won the door prize.
Meagan Sweeney was among those
from St. Anne's School in Clinton who
enjoyed a bus trip to New York City for
four days last week. The students saw a
Broadway play, "Les Miserables", Ground
Zero, the Statue of Liberty and other
sights.
St. Peter's Catholic Women's League
held their meeting Nov. 26 at the home
of Lil LaPorte. The ladies collected for the
Right to Life membership in the parish.
President is Martha Mungar.
The Optimist Club is sponsoring a pan-
cake breakfast with Santa in Dashwood
at Arc Industries on Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. -
11:30 a.m. A free-will offering will be
accepted.
The Ladies Auxiliary meeting will be
held at BWRH on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m.
Helpers are needed to decorate for
Christmas at the Home on Nov. 28 and
29.
We are happy to hear Jack and Ursula
Wisniewski are not leaving the Zurich
Pharmacy. We sure don't want to lose
them. Starting in December their hours
will be 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
