By Pat Bolen TIMES-ADVOCATE STAFF HENSALL – The Hensall Sherwoods improved their record to 5 and 1 with a 6-1 victo- ry over the Monkton Wildcats Nov. 9. It was an overall strong team effort with offence com- ing from several differ- ent players. Steve Matthews fired three goals with Chris Kennedy, Mark Bell, Dave Farquhar, and Sean McCann each get- ting one. Chris McD onald contributed 3 assists on the evening. The game was tighter than the score indicated, with Hensall scoring 5 goals in a 13 minute span during the second period to put the game out of reach. Sherwoods goalie Andy Glavin was busy all night, stopping 35 out of 36 chances, including a penalty shot. Glavin came within 4:17 of a shutout before giving up the lone Monkton goal on a powerplay late in the third. Glavin and the Sherwood penalty killers were especially sharp on a pair of Monkton 2 man advantages that were both killed off. The Hensall’s play their next two games on the road, starting in Goderich Friday Nov. 15 against the Pirates at 8:30pm. The following night they are in Windsor taking on the Spitfire’s at 8pm. 19Exeter Times–Advocate Sports Wednesday, November 13, 2002 Sat., Nov. 16 9 A.M.- 4 P.M. 600 Main Street S., Exeter Ont.
