THAMES ROAD - A very
impressive church service
took place Sunday morn-
ing at the regular service.
A Remembrance Introit
was sung, and Rev. Carter
gave greetings and the
announcements.
Helen Kadey gave a
Minute for Council. Quinn
Rush lit the Christ candle
and Rev. Carter told the
children a story about the
Honour Rolls.
Megan Pavkeje read a
story entitled ‘Why We
Wear a Poppy’. The choir
sang ‘Sacred Memories’
accompanied by organist
Marilyn Vandenbussche.
Kristy Bray read the scrip-
tures and a reading ‘A
Remembrance Day Story’
was given by Margaret
Stewart.
Vanessa and Jessica
Bray received the offering
and were the greeters. A
poem “Where Rockies
Touch the Stars’ was
given by Evelyn Johns.
Don Bray read ‘In
Flanders Fields’ and a
reply was read by Jessica
Bray.\ Fred Delbridge
read the Honour Roll for
Elimville from the three
wars. Diane Jeffery read
the Honour Roll for the
Presbyterian church and
Bethany Methodist
Thames Road.
Robert Bray lit candles
as Diane Jeffery read
about the Korean War.
Rev. Carter read about the
ones who lost their lives
when the terrorists
attacked, Helen Weston
read about the ones serv-
ing in Bosnia and
Afghanistan, and Bruce
Delbridge read about the
veteran survivors.
The Last Post was
played, two minutes of
silence was observed, and
the Reveille was played.
Robert Bray lit the Candle
of Peace.
The front of the church
had honour rolls, wreaths
with poppies and a cross.

A Volunteer
Appreciation meeting will
be held tonight, Nov. 13,
at the church at 7 p.m. for
everyone 16 years of age
and up. There will be
dessert and some surpris-
es.
Usborne Central School
Parent Council is hosting a
Pre-Christmas Fashion
Show Nov. 14 at South
Huron Rec Centre at 7:30
p.m. The doors open at 7
p.m. Cost is $10 per per-
son and there will be door
prizes. For tickets contact

At the service on Nov.
17, baptism will be cele-
brated and the mitten tree
will be ready for donations
of mittens, hats, scarves or
socks. The items will be
given to the Christmas
Bureau after the
Bethlehem Walk.

p.m.
On Nov. 19 the
Community of Churches
Bethlehem Walk meeting
will be held at Thames
Road-Elimville church at
7:30 p.m.
