On Friday evening last week a large
number of the Guild and members of
the Trivia Memorial church gathered
at.the residence of Thomas Trivitt;
Esq., to pay a tribute of respect and
esteem to their clergyman, Rev. S. F.
Robinson, before taking his aeparture
.from their midst. The merry throng
having' assembled amd. became comforu.
ably seated in the parlor, Isere busily
engaged in jovial conversation, 19`11011
Mrs, A. Q. Bobier arose and adressing
Mrs. (Rey.) Robinson, read the following.
.from the Manuscript which she held in
her hand, and at the same time pre-
sented her with a handsome tea set
and a set of laCe curtains.
Exeter, November 2011i, 1891.
DEAR. MRS. ROBINSON,
'We, the lady members of the
Trivitt Memorial Church Guild, feel
that we could not a.11ow you to depart
from amongst us without offering yon
a slight tribute of our ,elfections.'rMany
happy hours have been spent in your
company, and we know we are sus..
taining a great loss, but trust you may
be. spared many years to work in God's
vineyard, as indefatigably as you have
whilst residing la Exeter, and we sin-
cerely hope th; change may fully re-
store you to good health. Kindly ac-
cept this tea set and curtaius as mem-
entoes from a few of the many friends
you are leaving, and May the. Almighty
Lord guard, guide and keep you is the
prayer of Yours lovingly,
THE GUILD.
The lady being taken by sur-
prise, arose, and could scarcely find
words to express her feelings, so thank-
ing them for their gifts sat down
amidst tears of overwhelming sadness
which touched the hearts of al present,
feeling that they were. abbut to lose
one who Was very near and dear to
them in all the workings and business
connected with the church. Whe,n
the ccmfusien had.. somewhat abit,:ed
and the crisis seemed to be at an end,
Mr.,Samuel Sweet appeared npon the
seene with another address, which had
been prepared by N. Dyer Hardon, on
behalf of the congregation of the
church, and read in a clear tone of
voice, and on coming to that part
where it srlyS "accept this nurse with
coutents" he -handed to him a purse
containing ein all $64.00.
