An Important Round.—Mr. Jas,- Biggins and Mr. John Johnston have been around soliciting subscrip tions for the fall show. Their work is an important one. Our citizens are building stores and houses, but these will go for nought if the trade of our town is not held and increas1- ed, we must have customers, and meetings such as the fall show help to attract customers. »• • St. James’ S. S. Benefit.—The Garden party’at Mr. John Middle*, ton’s, Goderich township,- had quite a’number of attendants from town, and was largely'patronised by those in • the more immediate neighbor hood. It was a very, enjoyable af fair. Th.e good things were liberally provided, and the affability of Mr. Middleton and family, and others who officiated, made life seem really worth livjng, for at- least the time being. The affair will net about $50. A goodly sum for a good cause. Huron Loyalists.—-Jas, W/atson, ofTliis town, received a letter from his brotlfer John, who is at present with the 91st Winnipeg battalion stationed at Fort Qu’Appelle, N.
