SLEE.-In Exeter, on August 28th,'90e
Mary Annie,Slee, aged 70 years
10 months and 23 days,
Mother, thou. hast crossed the river,
La,ntled on the other side,
.Where, with Christ enthroned iughney,
Thou wilt evermore abide
Thou hast crossed the narrow ,Tordan,
Thou hest reached -the shining share;
All thy triais here are ended,
Naught can e'er disturb thee *more -
Thou art gone to dwell with jeSUEI,
And hest left all earthly*love,
He has called thee to his presente,'
To his mansion built above .
`Thou hest passed the shining gateway
And hest trod those 'streets,. of gold,
Left all earthly joy and pleasine
•For the joy- of Heaeren untold:
Singing praises.to thY Saviour
. Midst" that whiterobed °happy, bah
With a crown upon thy foreheatti'
And a harp within thy hand.
'Seen we too shall cross the river,
Soon our wanderings here shall eeaste
.Then with Christ and thee forever .
We shall dwell in perfect peace
How calm her rest, her life work done;
She with the blest the crown, has won,
The victor palm is in her hand
On stteets of gold her feet now stande
Oh constant friendoh mother dear!.
'Twas bard to pert, we miss thee hate,
The world looks dark, all -thin ess seem sad
Without thy- smiles to make us ghtd.
Yet ,looking stelidfastly above,
To that'bright Wald her home of love,
We feel our hearts drawn thither too,
liVith aspiration strong and ne,w;
To tread with firm unfaltering step,
The path of duty which she trod,
Until it leads to her and God..
