WHAT IS A DAY'S LABOR. '

A TRAVELLERS EXPERIENCE.
Mr. William Leavitt, representing
Messrs. Ames Holden & Co., Montreal,
states: -Nasal Balm is the best prepar-
ation on earth for catarrh, my own
caselbeing of the worst kind, and after
trying every remedy offered without
relief, I was induced to try Nasal Balm
which afforded immediate relief. The
rapid manner it relieves stoppage and
clogging of the nasal passages, stops
the droppings of poisonous secretion
from the into ie throat, is truly
wonderful, and should be known to
every sufferer from catarrh or cold in
the head.
London opinion generally does not
agree with the utterances of the two
Sir Johns on the tariff question. It is
generally believed there that the Mc-
Kinley Bill will ultimately favor the re-
ciprocity moyement on both sides of
the line.

tween these Two Great Lines

MON`rRnAL, ' Oct, 3rd. 1890. -From
time to time rumors have gone forth
that nCbm
Otati0ll8 were on foot between
the Gland Trunk and Canadian Pa
cific Railways looking to a union of
these two great trunk lines -or, if not
a union, at least to closer relations,
and, perhaps, a pooling of receipts, "Is
there any thing in it?" Is the question
an interested public has asked? 'rhus
far apparently there, is not, but once
more the attention of the public is con-
spicuously drawn to these roads, and
the knowing ones assert that this time
some united move is contemplated.
The prolonged visit of Sir Joseph Ty-
ler; his visit to the Northwest, and the
proposed hostile legislation threatened
by the United States towards these two
great roads, give rise to various 1'mlinors
and the question is again asked, "What
will be the result? Will they combine
to protect their mutual interests?"
Time will tell; but, in the meantime,
there is one matter upon which those
connected with these great railways
unanimously agreo,11Lmely, that Nasal
Balm is the only remedy for the effect

Mr. Gordon Starr, C. P. R. ' agent at
Brockville says; "For some years I
