On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers sold on a steady market. Choice steers and heifers sold $96 to $100 with sales to $114.25. Second- cut steers and heifers sold $92 to $96. The cows sold actively with prices $ I to $2 higher. On Thursday the veal sold on a steady market. The lambs sold on a strong active trade. On Friday the calves sold at prices $2 to $4 higher with the yearlings trading $2 higher also. There were 761 steers on offer. Dave Baker, Brussels, consigned one black steer weighing 1,375 lbs. which sold to Holly Park Meat Packers for $114.50. His overall offering of four steers averaged 1,375 lbs. selling for an average price of $109.67. Nine steers con­ signed by Willard B. Martin, Drayton, averaged 1,453 lbs. which sold for an average price of $105.62 with his top four limousin steers averaging 1,421 lbs. selling for $108. Ross Baird, Wingham, con­ signed one blue steer weighing 1,460 lbs. which sold to Norval Meat Packers for $106.75. His overall offering of two steers averaged 1,345 lbs. selling for an average price of $106.07. One limousin steer consigned by John Richardson, Harriston, weighed 1,290 lbs. which sold to Norval Meat Packers for $105.25. Gerald Geisel, Elmira, consigned fif­ teen steers averaging 1,493 lbs. which sold for an average price of $101.61 with his eight limousin steers averaging 1,434 lbs. selling to Dominion Meat Packers for $106.85.
