The Monday night action at Wingham Curling Club proved that some teams were hot and some teams were not as all scores were rather one sided: John Nixon 13, Bruce Robertson 3; Stewart Leedham 10, Doug Miller 3 and Barry Simpson 9, Bob Campbell 3. In the Monday daytime league the results were: Ivan Dow 5, Leedham 4; Irving Elliott 7, Lloyd Wheeler 5; Nelson Frank 10, Shaw 2; Bruce Robertson 6, Don Henry 5; Stamper 10, Nethery 3; Jim Coultes 12, Bill Deans 4 and Ron McMichael 6, Mac Inglis 3. In Thursday’s action the scores were: Deans 6, Robertson 3; Nethery 9, Frank 7; Irving Elliott 8, Don Henry 7 and Mac Inglis 6, Leedham 5; Shaw 6, Ivan Dow 5; R. McMichael 9, J. Coultes 5 and W. Stamper 9, L. Wheeler 6. The shot of the week was made by Mac Inglis. (Heather Crawford photo) ALRC announces launch of website BELGRAVE CO-OP Belgrave 357-2711 The Active Living Resource Centre for Ontarians with a Disability (ALRC) announced the recent incorporation, and the official launch of its new website. The ALRC is a one-stop source for facts on active living, practical resources, programs in your community and how-to materials that enable individuals with disabilities, their families and caregivers to access information via the interactive website or toll-free telephone line. The information is for people of all ages and all abilities. Ontarians as well as recreation and health professionals, will be able to access the information at no cost. Be sure to check out the new website at www.getactivenow.ca A recent Statistics Canada survey (PALS 2001) estimates that approximately 1.5 million Ontarians have a disability, representing 13.5 per cent of all Ontarians. The number is expected to increase as the population ages. "There are many inclusive, active living opportunities available, but not everyone knows about them and that can be frustrating for the consumer,” says Dana Lesson, vice- president of the ALRC. “Though increased access to information, we and he was facing Leedham’s rock sitting on the button. Scores for Thursday action were: L. Michie 8, M. Shiell 1; J. Ross 5, S. Nixon 4; Fred Meier 8, N. Edgar 4 and M. McNichol 8, D. Shiell 5.*** Results for Dec. 9 were as follows: S. Cottrill 6, R. Wraith 4; W. Waechter 8, H. Clugston 5; Chris Cottrill 16, Lynn Hickey 2.*** The country men’s bonspiel is Feb. 4. Several teams have already entered.
