Rollers shutout
The Blyth Rollers hosted a
PeeWee broomball game in the
Blyth arena against the Mildmay
Hawks on the afternoon on Dec. 3.
This was the first time this season
that the Hawks and the Rollers
played against each other.
Mildmay had a strong game
making some great passes and
successfully stealing the ball away
from Blyth. They are very
aggressive with their shots on net.
First-time goalkeeper, Murray
Dale put on the gear to tend the net
for the Rollers. He made numerous
saves throughout the game. Dale

Iiderton then tied the game.
After that it was end-to-end action,
but with 17 seconds left Iiderton did
the fatal move of pulling their goalie
with the play at centre ice. Ashley
Sholdice picked up the puck and
fired it home for the 2-1 victory.
All played extremely well.
Saturday afternoon it was back to
Tiverton to meet the hometown
rival. This game was also aggressive
with lots of action from both
teams.
Brussels’ only goal resulted from a
pile up in front of the net before Jory
Uyl scored. The final score was l-1.
Brianne Wheeler made many great
saves.
Brussels played great hockey, but
did not earn enough points to move
them on to the Sunday finals.
