Blyth opened the scoring at 8:40 in the first with an unassisted goal by Shelsie Popp. Forwards Cdurtney Middegaal, Jordan Teed, Rebecca Chalmers, Nicole Middegaal, Kayla Dale, Mackenzie McGavin and Lexi Smith kept the pressure on, but were unsuccessful at scoring. The Walkerton team, one of the best in the league, kept Blyth’s defence, Laura Higgins, Justine Reid and Kelsey Kerr on their toes. Chloe Middegaal had a great time between the pipes for Blyth making many excellent saves. Popp’s goal would be the only one. Walkerton won 10-1. Coaches Higgins and Walker were pleased with the 100 per cent improvement Blyth has made against this teem from last year. The Citizen 523-4792 or 887-9114 All together It was great competitive play when the Blyth Dynamite PeeWees took on Seaforth at home this past weekend and blew away the competition by a score of 3-1. (Vicky Bremnerphoto) Dynamite blasts Seaforth The Blyth PeeWee Green Dynamite is off to a fast start this season with a record of four wins and no losses. The Dynamite played its first game in Seaforth and came out strong, beating the home Seaforth team 3-1. Scoring two goals was Nadine Otten with assists from Greg Roetcisoender and Morgan Roetcisoender also netted one an assist from Bos. Tyler Hallahan played excellent game in net stopping many shots. The Dynamite then travelled to Mildmay and won 3-1. Roetcisoender had two more goals Blyth Mites battle Brussels Blyth Mites ravelled to play Brussels on Saturday, Nov. 19 for their premiere game. Brussels led the way in the scoring contest. Carson Richmond’s attempt to put Blyth on the score sheet was denied by the buzzer and Jared Shearer’s attempt was stopped as well. Jacob Gulutzen scored first for with assists from Otten and Bos. Otten scored the third goal of the game. Hallahan stopped a few tough breakaways and kept Mildmay to only one goal. Mildmay came to Blyth the next week and the hosts came out on top once again by 3-1. Goals were scored by Roetcisoender (two) and Otten (one) with Bos getting the assist. Once again Hallahan had a strong performance in net with the help of the strong defence. Seaforth came to town this past weekend and Hallahan earned his first shutout of the season. Otten scored the first goal of the game from a nice cross ice pass from Roetcisoender. Bos scored her first goal of the season on a breakaway late in the second period.
