Drug bust in Seaforth
Oh the magic is in the air. The
season of love is palpable and the
effects are a joy to watch. Ready
smiles are present and are quickly
returned with a kind word. Yes,
Advent is new wonder every year.
Christmas music is up and running
with the hum-alongs out and ready
for another year. The songs of youth
are almost in the subconscious, just
there, and ready to sing along after a
very few notes.
The village churches are in high
anticipation. The decorations are up
and beautiful, the plans for the season
are made and the choir has special
music all ready to share. Yes, it’s time
to review all the good things of
Christmases past and hope that this
one holds all the hope for the future.
The Christmas gatherings have
begun. Time to gather the aunts and
uncles, cousins and in-laws for a time
together. Everyone has traditions but
the important thing is that as family
we remain connected. Food is shared,
stories told and memories dusted off.
It’s a very good lime to appreciate
our own personal history and say
thanks for our descendants.
The Blyth Festival did their bit for
Christmas on Sunday as the Blyth
Festival Singers, the Blyth Festival
Orchestra, the Blyth Festival Art
Gallery along with their guests and
staff celebrated the season with great
music. Old familiar, new to the ear
and one brand new piece
commissioned for the orchestra made
up the afternoon. It was pretty special
to hear the words and music of a
brand new song publicly performed
for the very fist time.
Scott Brubacher was in the
audience and was very pleased to
hear his work brought to life. So
thanks for the Huron County
Christmas. Yes music is good for the
soul.
Good-bye Honey Lloyd. On
Saturday the pews were full as
Brussels United said good-bye to
their life-long member. Lloyd
Wheeler called Brussels home since a
lad and left his mark with good
memories on several generations.
Lloyd and Helen shared their life
with many, and dignity and
dedication to purpose are words that
describe them well. Thanks for the
fine example for living and be sure to
tell your stories to Lloyd's family in
the weeks ahead.
Check your calendar. There are
many fun things to attend in the
weeks ahead and you don’t want to
miss any of the festivities and
anticipation. Enjoy!
Bye now, Betty G.W.
