Canada Day will come a little late

but the celebrating will start early.
Due to the 150th anniversary
celebration planned for Jul. 7, 8 and
9, Huron East council decided at the
Nov. 15 meeting to move the Canada
Day fireworks to Jul. 9.
The fireworks will held in the
Grey ward as the finale of the
celebrations.***
Council is looking into getting a
bit more comfortable at council
meetings.
Staff has been authorized to call
for proposals to replace the 14 chairs
in council. Eight cloth chairs
presently in use were purchased in
Grey in 1994.
A suggestion was made to put 14
new chairs in and the eight Grey
chairs could be used by the
department heads attending council
and two by the press.
A supplier has been contacted
stating that the replacement chairs
are scheduled for a significant price
increase. Orders placed before Dec.
10 will be honoured at 2005 prices.
This item was not budgeted for 2005
and could be considered as a 2006
budget item.

During the time for the young at
heart a short skit was presented by
Ryan Baan as narrator and Joelle and
Melissa Glanville as the two lost
sheep. The message - that nothing is
found that is not looked for - was
revealed in the story.
The anthem by the choir was
entitled The Present. The scripture
was read by Bethany Black.
A white gift drama entitled What
Are You Looking For, was presented
by Laura and Bethany Black.
The Minute for Mission explained

An official motion from council
was requested by Huron East fire
chief Marty Bedard to authorize the
Huron East Fire Department to leave
the limits of the municipality.
Out-of-county coverage is
currently listed in the Huron County
Mutual Aid Plan to which Huron
East adheres. However, Bedard
along with North Perth fire chief
Ed Smith, felt an official motion
should be passed by both
municipalities.
The motion was passed at Huron
East as well as North Perth.***
Ensuring that the public is
informed that a global flu pandemic

for the people of the community in
such a situation was the basis of a

of different projects being carried out

Hackwell. Abby McGavin read the
dedication and prayer.
Lisa Huether, Nicole Stevenson,

The bad weather cancelled many
things on Thursday and Friday. The

One of the area’s favourite winter

lifestyle benefits that organized
snowmobiling provides to this
community and its residents each
winter.”***
An agreement to transfe the
