Livingston named Stewart as one
of the game’s heroes, scoring six
points in the night.
"He can play the powerplay,
defence, he’s smart with the puck,”
Livingston said. “There’s so many
things he can do.”
IN HANOVER
Wingham’s other game of the
weekend wasn’t such a cakewalk,
with them losing 4-2 to Hanover.
Livingston compared the game to
the Nov 23 match between the
Maple Leafs and Bruins.
“No matter what we tried to do
Friday night, nothing went right,”
Livingston said.
Hanover was working hard to beat
the first-place Ironmen, and had
some great goaltending, stopping
Stewart on the rush. Even with a
couple goals, Wingham never got
back in the game.
“When you put the other team on
a 4-0 lead, it’s hard to come back
from,” Livingston said. “It’s the first
time Hanover beat us in two years.
It hurt.”
Half-way through the season, the
Ironmen have won 35 points out of
a possible 40, but as always,
Livingston is looking at the bigger
picture.
“That doesn’t matter, there’s still
the next 20 games.”

Christinas lights are starting to
light up the streets of Auburn and
they are looking beautiful indeed.
Everyone is being put in the
Christmas spirit.
With December now here, 1 am
sure there will be many more people
putting up displays getting into
the holiday spirit. As we all get into

that spirit, please make sure you
have your designated driver,
stay over, or call a cab.
A coffin isn’t the kind of
Christmas box anybody wants.
On Saturday, the Blyth Threshers
held their annual meeting followed
by a banquet in the evening. Several
members from the Auburn area were
able to attend.
The Auburn Coffee Club will be
meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at
Stickers, rather than Thursday
to have their Chrismas get-
together.

Some Auburn friends drove up to
Fordwich to visit Lois Haines. They
learned that Lois’s niece passed
away. Lois was to go to the funeral
the next day. The Auburn
community sends their sympathy to
Lois and her family.
Auburn sends their sympathy to
the family of Reg Carter. The funeral
was held last Tuesday in Port
Elgin.
His wife Eve and children Carol,
Renee and Stephen were quite
touched when they saw several
Auburn residents arrive to pay their
respects.
Reg had fond memories of the
village of AuDurn and came back to
the 150th reunion in 2004 to renew
acquaintances.
A picture of Reg sitting along the
Auburn parade route was on
display.
He was the son of Joe Carter and
the grandson of James Carter. He
spent many years visiting his Aunt
Sadie who lived in the house where
Jason Kerr lives today.
