CAN YOU DO BETTER.
When attacked by croup, sore throat,
colds, rheumatism, neuralgia, sprains,
bruises, burns or any kind of pain or
soreness, can you do better than use
Yellow Oil? It is a medicine which
never tails to give satisfaction, It is
magical in its power over pain, and is
the safest and best remedy where sore-

Nova Scotia Elections,
Halifax, April 22. --The Government
organs officially announce the dissolut-
ion of the Legislature and the holding
of the general elections on the• 21st of
May, nominations on the 14th. The
announcement has long been expectad,
and finds the Liberal Conservatives
well organized, eager for the fray, and
with splendid prospects of success.
Candidates are in the field, and have
made a pretty general canvas ill every
county except Hants, where a conven-
tion meets this week, The Liberal
Conservative party enters upon the
campaign with energy and confidence.
The Death Penalty.
The death penalty was pronounced
Tuesday upon Dubois, the St. Alban's
murderer, and June 20th fixed for his
execution. When the court assembled
this morning Mr. Fitzpatrick addressed
the jury'on behalf of the Crown in a
lengthy and able resume of the evidence
heard during the trial. Judge Bosse
followed, and charged the jury, in both
French and English, very hard against
the prisoner, who took matters very
coolly. The jury retired to deliberate
on a verdict at 12.20 when the court
took recess until 2 o'clock. When the
court room was cleared during recess
the prisoner sat down and joked and
ia'ughed with his guards as if the
enormity of his position was thousands
of miles away from his thoughts. He
even called out to one of the court offi-
cers, telling him that he would have
no objection to a glass of beer. The
court room was packed with spectators
who crowded in to hear the verdict.
At 2.05 o'clock Judge Bosse took his
seat on the bench, when the jury enter-
ed the court and returned a verdict
against the prisoner of guilty of the
crime whereof he stood indicted. Mr.
Fitzpatrick then moved that the sen-
tence imposttd by law be pronounced
upon the prisoner. After the reading
of the formula the prisoner was asked
if he had anything to say, and answer-
ed: "Nothing." The judge assumed
the black cap and put the same ques-
tion to the prisoner, who answered in
clear tones: "Nothing, sir "
Judge Bosse, with some emotion, sen-
tenced the prisoner to be hanged on the
20th of June next, within the walls of
the common jail.
The prisioner ' sat down with the
sante air of unconcern as he wore dur-
ing the whole trial.
