Twenty-six seniors enjoyed a potluck lunch together. Jean Plaetzer, outgoing president, chaired the first part of the meeting. She presented the slate of officers drawn up by the nominating committee as follows: past president, Jean Plaetzer; president, Shirley Nicholson; secretary, Janis Vodden; assistant secretary, Marie Toll; treasurer, Lawrence Plaetzer; assistant treasurer, Vera Hesselwood; program convenor, Enid MacDonald; assistant program convenor, Vera Hesselwood; kitchen convenor, Jean Nethery; cards, Thelma Wilson; pianist. Elva Brown. A volunteer is needed for the position of first vice-president. Mrs. Plaezter thanked the club for their support during her term in office. The club thanked her for her faithfulness - she did not miss a meeting during her term. Vera Hesselwood took charge of the Alzheimer’s Coffee Break which brought in over $50. The incoming president raised the question of the Christmas banquet on the regular meeting date of Nov. 23. Discussion followed. Elva Brown was pianist for the day. A short sing-song preceded cards. Everyone wishing to attend the fall rally in Belgrave on Oct. 20 is to have $7 to Lawrence Plaetzer by Oct. 10. FROM BLYTH Stewart Ament will be celebrating his 85th birthday on Oct. 9. Happy birthday to Bernice Pierce who celebrated her birthday on Saturday, Oct. 1. Happy birthday to Donna Taylor who celebrates a special birthday this week. The 8th Line neighbours met at the Blyth Inn on Tuesday, Sept. 20 to say goodbye to Deanna and Kevin Ritchie and family as they are moving to Alberta. We wish them well on their new venture. Come out and help Camp Menesetung retire the debt of the sewage system. The board is holding a dinner/auction on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Saltford Community Centre. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person. For tickets call Barb Knox (Mrs. Mel Knox). BLYTH UNITED CHURCH Greeting at Blyth United Church on Sunday, Oct. 2 were Diana Campbell and Lori and Connor Brooks. Guest pianist was Amanda Swartzentruber. Ushers were Lori Brooks and Lavem Clark. The choir sang an anthem I Will Dwell in You. The children were asked to go to the back and bring the baskets of items to the Food Bank for the Tont with them. Rev. Robin McGauley explained o the children that this was World Communion Sunday and why the able was spread with bread and vine. She invited the children to return rom the Sunday school to join the ongregation for communion. Wyatt Bearss held the candle /hich was lit from the candles at the ront of the church to take ownstairs with them. The scripture readings were datthew 21: 33-46, Psalm 19 and ’hilippians 3: 4b-14, and read by >ori Brooks. Rev. McGauley’s message to the tdults was. Sharing of His sufferings. She reminded all that ’aul’s letters were for all churches. Paul tells us of the changes n his life and his belief in Christ. He called all churches to join him in his belief in Christ. Communion was served by Joan Clark, Diana Campbell, Judy Gleave, Doug Howson, Fred Meier and Myrtle Badley. Written comments and/or oral presentations may be made to the Council in respect to the foregoing prior to the passage of the by-law. John Stewart, CMO Clerk-Administrator Township of North Huron a by-law to adopt these TOWNSHIP OF NORTH HURON BLYTH WARD RESIDENTS GARDEN REFUSE FINAL PICKUP FOR 2005 Notice is hereby given that the final garden refuse and branch pickup for the Blyth Ward will be Tuesday, October 11, 2005. All refuse and branches must be on the side of the road by 8:00 a.m. on that date. Tree limbs must be kept separate from leaves and garden refuse, which are being collected separately this year. All other forms of rubbish will not be collected and must be prepared for regular garbage pickup. Residents are advised that this will be the final collection for the fall of 2005. Residents placing garden refuse, grass clippings, and branches at the side of the road after this date will be invoiced by the Township of North Huron for the pickup.
