It Saturday, Sept. 17 are available in advance from any member of the board of stewards or at the door between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The cost for adults is $10 in advance or $ 12 at the door. The cost for children ages five to 12 is $5 while under fives are free. Takeouts are available. Londesborough United Church will worship with Knox United from Auburn at the Ball’s Cemetery Church at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18. You are asked to bring along a lawn chair. When the evening’s scores were tallied, Frank and Betty Thompson were proclaimed the high couple with 81 points. Verna Gibbings and Rita Flynn placed second with 75 points. There was a three-way tie for third place. Gordon Bosman and Harry Lear, Jack Lee and Dennis Penfound and Harold McClinchey and Kay Hesselwood all tallied up 73 points by the end of euchre playing. Gordon Bosman and Harry Lear also played successfully the most lone hands at seven. The group’s next card party will be held on Oct. 14. Teams play for Easter Seals The crack of the bats could be heard throughout the village of Londesborough this past Friday and Saturday as six teams competed against each other. It was a fun tournament of comradeship and game with all proceeds to help out the Easter Seals. ; The three winning teams were: C finals, Guess Who; B finals, Summerhill; A finals, Oakie Pokies. All teams were generous and donated their winnings back towards the Angel’s Easter Seal campaign. Between registration and ticket sales, the Londesborough Angels raised $936. But they couldn’t have done it without the generosity of all participating ball players, the Municipality of Central Huron and the coverage from the local paper. The Angels plan on continuing this traditional co-ed baseball tournament for charity next year again.
