Thresher Reunion 2005
Show offers large variety of craft items

The Reunion craft show held in the arena has become a
huge part of the three-day event with a large number of
exhibitors showing a variety of items. (Fite photo)

Barb Storey from Winthrop will
be returning this year with her
irresistible maple syrup candy
display.
Joanne MacDonald of Blyth will
host a knitting and crochet display
table while Carol Swartz, of Clinton
will be returning with her hand
painted china.
Organizing crafters for the
Reunion is a large undertaking.
Applications are sent out months in
advance to vendors who participated
in the past. New crafters who would
like to set up a display begin
preparing as soon as the date for the
next reunion is set.
Vendors from all over the county
are set to show off their handiwork,
and offer knick-knacks, souvenirs
and memorabilia to take home.

While taking in the events at this
years Thresher’s Reunion it will be
difficult to miss the unique craft
displays laid out in the Blyth arena.
This year promises to be more
varied than ever, featuring rustic
wood workings built for the harsh
Canadian winters as well as
delicately assembled jewelry.
Knitting, quilting and china
painting also return to the arena this
year.
All crafts have an antique,
Tunesman
Old-timers and some young
folk participate in the fiddle
contest held on. Saturday
afternoon behind the arena.
