Dreamweavers Dog Training is a
new attraction this year at the 44th
annual Threshers Reunion and
Steam Sh,ow.
The show is a combination of
speed, agility and obedience as dog
owners take their unleashed dog
through a pre-arranged course.
The owners are allowed to go
through the course prior to the
competition, but the dog is not.
Grace Cooper of Dreamweavers
Dog Training of RR 3, Ailsa Craig
has been involved for the past 12
years, and has been teaching since
1997.
She indicated she used to own
border collies when they lived in
London and that is where she began
teaching.
Where she is located now is the
type of place ideal for this type of
dog training.
“There has to be lots of space."
she said.
According to Cooper, there are a
lot of dog owners in the north part of
London and in this area who could
use some dog training. She teaches
at Oakridge Animal Hospital.

Although she will be using a
variety of dog breeds in her
performance, she said the border
collies are the ideal breed as they
have the attention and the drive for
performance sports.
She indicated they've always had
dog's; she and her husband used to
have rough collies (lassie-type
collies). They lost one in 1990 and
their children decided to replace it.
Instead of the rough collie, they
replaced it with a border collie,
thinking it was the same type of dog.
“It was not at all the same type of
dog.” said Cooper. “Rough collies
