On Sept. 2 at approximately 10:30 a m. a citizen contacted Huron OPP over a crash that had occurred the prior night in front of his house. An officer went to a residence on Hydro Line in Huron East to find that a Ford pickup truck had left the roadway struck a telephone box on the victim's front lawn before ending up in a cornfield. The owner found an injured man who was taken to Seaforth hospital for medical treatment. Upon investigation of the truck the officer discovered that it was one of two trucks, along with a large amount of tools, which had been stolen from a residence earlier that week in Belgrave. The driver did admit to the officer MARIE ROE Sarah Marie (Gee) Roe, of RR2, Atwood, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday. Aug. 26, 2005 at the age of 83. She was bom in Listowel on June 6, 1922, a daughter of the late John and Daisy (Siegner) Gfee. Marie was a member of Atwood Presbyterian Church. that he had fallen asleep behind the wheel of the vehicle while under the influence of drugs. A 24-year-old from Wingham was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing on Tuesday. Sept. 6 in Goderich charged with theft over $5,000, beach of probation, driving while suspended, careless driving and use plates not authorized for vehicle. Then on Sept. 4 the owner of a local gravel pit on Jamestown Road in Huron East contacted Huron OPP. Tracks indicated that a vehicle had driven across the field to enter the pit. The officer then saw a green 1993 Ford Aerostar, which had been taken from a residence on Parker Street in Belgrave had been destroyed by fire. The tools stolen from the vehicles Obituaries Marie was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Jack Roe, who predeceased her in 1995; dear mother of Linda Roe and partner Joey Farrell of Thunder Bay. John Roe and wife Nancy of Blyth. and Paul Roe and wife Gloria of Atwood; and the loving grandmother of Chris and Scott Roe of Atwood. She is fondly remembered by her brother. Jack Gee; sisters, Florence Sangster, are still outstanding. The investigation continues.
