Many thanks to all my friends who hosted a going away party for me at the Walton Inn. To all who helped organize the party and to the staff at the Inn for your extra work, a special thank you. My Walton friends will always have a special place in my heart. - Marie Coutts. 35-lp HUMPHRIES. To all those who attended or sent best wishes to our 50th anniversary celebration, to those who brought and sent beautiful cards, gifts and flowers, to the ladies of the Walton Women’s Institute who kept our lunch table well replenished, and to our family who planned,* organized, and worked so hard to make it all a success, we thank you sincerely. We had a great time and it was and will be a memorable day. Thank you all. - Bill and Marjory. 35-1 Cards of thanks PALMER. Leonard and their family Chris, Stephanie, Matthew and Elizabeth, along with their spouses and children thank all those wonderful people who touched our lives through this “storm of life”, the passing of our beloved wife and mother Elsie. Mom died July 14. The kindness and loving gestures extended by family, neighbours and friends eased our pain and calmed our souls. God says “In everything give thanks”. We are thankful for good people. Please accept our heartfelt thanks for being there for us, helping during our service and supporting Mom in her final days. Ministers Ethel Miner Clare, of Knox United Church in Belgrave and Ernest Dow of Living Waters Christian Fellowship in Blyth, thank you for your warm words of comfort, prayers and assistance during the memorial service. Gloria Dow, thank you for presenting some of Mom’s poetry at the service. Thank you to all those who showered us with flowers and filled us with food during the days immediately following that dreadful day. Thank you to the Living Waters group for the noontime lunch at our home before the service and the UCW ladies at Knox for providing the lunch after the service. Thanks to Bonnie and Arnold, for your help around our house. A warm thanks to those special nurses who cared for Mom during her last days. They were difficult ones and the Community Nursing Service came in and was able to make Mom comfortable right away. Once in the Wingham hospital, the nurses in the ICU - Palliative Care Unit continued the professional caring treatment. They were sensitive to our families’ needs and respected the patient in room 227, our mother. God bless nurses. Finally, we thank our employers for giving us time to share precious moments with Mom, Goderich Hospital, Heartland Credit Union and the Ontario Veal Association. To everyone else, we thank you for showing your love for Mom and sharing in our memorial service. — The Palmer Family. 35-1 Coming events MEN OF NOTE IS EXTENDING an invitation to local area men who are interested in joining an all-male choir.
