the blaze.
Also, damage to the home was
more than the $125,000 as reported,

BLYTH UNITED CHURCH
Greeting at Blyth United Church
on Sunday, Aug. 14 were Joan and
Lavern Clark. Guest pianist was
Amanda Swartzentruber. Guest
speaker was Tom Dunbar.
The children’s hymn Jesus Loves
Me was sung. The children’s story
was about receiving gifts. Mr.
Dunbar asked what their favourite
gift was? A hamster was the answer.
The responsive reading Psalm #67
was led by Ollie Craig, followed by
the scripture reading: l Corinthians
12: 4-11 and Romans 12: 4-8.
Mr. Dunbar’s message to the
adults was A Very Personal Gift. We
all have favourite gifts that we
receive, he said. There are five gifts
that God has given us in the Bible.
The lists are found in three different
places in the Bible. They arc share
your gifts, encourage others, live
your faith, pray and give back to
God. God gives all people different
gifts and they must trust in God and
have faith in Him.

It was Glad Days for epilepsy awareness on Aug. 11 in Blyth and Florence Wiersma made a
purchase of the colourful flowers from 11-year-old Caitlyn Jerome of Teeswater and Kathy
Bromley. Bromley who had brain surgery several years ago to stop her seizures has been a
dedicated volunteer for the epilepsy society for some time. Jerome, who is an epileptic wants
to make people aware and educate them about the condition. (Bonnie Gropp photo)
