Born March 26, 2005, Logan Gary Francis Bongertman. son of Steve and Melinda (Smith) Bongertman of Dungannon died as a result of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Melinda is the daughter of Gary and Mary (Lawrence) Smith of RR2, Auburn. Also left to mourn is Logan’s big brother, four-year-old Brandon, grandparents, Frank and Sserta Bongertman of Ashfield Twp. as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral for Logan was held at the McKenzie Funeral Home in Lucknow followed by a gathering at the home of Gary and Mary Smith. Logan was laid to rest in Dungannon Cemetery. Sympathies go out to all the families. Sympathies also go out to Cathy Carter and family. Cathy’s mother, May Collision, of Teeswater, passed away recently and our thoughts are with the family at this time. Auburn community sends its sympathy to the family and friends of Harold Gross. His funeral was held at Knox Church Aug. 3. Wife Bernice, children Carol, Paul and Terry as well as grandchildren are left to mourn their loss. Harold farmed for many years just east of Auburn. Our thoughts are with you all at this time. Lillian Logtenberg recently returned home from Stratford hospital and I am told she has had a return visit to hospital. We wish her all the best. Rev. Paul and Ruth Ross's daughter Jen is getting married in October. The wedding will be held at Bloor Street United. Both bride and groom have fathers who are ministers and they will both have a chance to just be parents for the event. For most fathers that is enough. The assistant minister at Bloor Street United will be presiding over the nuptials. Neighbours, friends and community wish everyone all the best. Rev. Pat Cook had a wonderful relaxing holiday on an Alaskan cruise. She is looking forward to returning to her pastor work however with Knox church services resuming this Sunday Aug. 15 at 9:30 a.m. Congratulations to Sandy and Shirley Andrews who celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary at the home of Brent and Vicki Andrews. They have four sons Bradley, Darcy, Brent, and Ian and six grandchildren. Neighbours, friends and family wish them many more years. As earlier reported Nancy (Anderson) Park had a handsome blond guest staying with her for a few days. Along with Nancy, Max was also at the anniversary party giving Nancy a chance see him again. Patricia Robinson has returned from Thunder Bay for a month of holidays. She is attending Lakehead University in the nursing program. Patricia has completed two years and will be returning in September. During her last year she will be placed in northern outposts to assist in medical clinics and hospitals. She is keeping her options open after graduation but one consideration is returning to Africa. Good luck whatever you choose. Alice McDowell and Kim Walker just returned from a tour of Boston by motor coach from Impact Tours. The ladies say it was fabulous. Caroline McDowell spent last week with Grandma and Grandpa Woodward and cousins in Port Rowan. A great time was enjoyed. Vancouver visitors with Jack and Elva Armstrong of Auburn, were Elva’s two sisters Irene Wiley and Clarrisa Price and niece Maureen and Jerry Glaum. To inspire A dinner to help promote the Blyth Festival was held at the Thresher’s shed #3 following the performance. Actors did scenes from plays and Adrian Churchill talked about how much he enjoyed life in Huron County. Cappy Onn entertained with music from the upcoming Spirit of the Narrows. The visit brought together five- siblings, which included area residents Harold and Cliff Carter along with the aforementioned for much laughter and reminiscing over old family photos. The family attended the wedding of Cliff's granddaughter. Johanna, and gave everyone a chance to make more memories and take new photos for future generations to reminisce and visit over. Falls hosts annual Jamboree The annual Fiddling al the Falls Jamboree is set for Saturday, Aug. 13 at Falls Reserve Conservation Area. The jamboree provides visitors with the chance to hear terrific live music while relaxing along the scenic Maitland River. The event attracts musicians of all ages from across the Maitland watershed and beyond. This year’s musical hosts for the jamboree are the Gypsy Campers. The Gypsy Campers are inviting local musicians to come and join in. Musicians interested in participating can register at the Picnic Pavilion at Falls Reserve. The music begins at l p.m. and will continue throughout the afternoon in the day-use area of the park. Fiddling at the Falls is free with regular park admission of $9 per vehicle. A concession booth is located at the site and refreshments will be available. Bring your lawn chair and settle back to enjoy the talents of area musicians. Falls Reserve Conservation Area is located just west of Benmiller on County Road 31, only 10 minutes from Goderich. The 192-hectare family park features over 150 campsites, a group camping area, scenic waterfalls, hiking trails and children’s conservation activities all in a beautiful natural setting.
