for two years, I will be taking a
break, with Aug. 22 being my last
one. Thanks to the people who called

who laughed off my errors and
omissions. I will try to assist anyone
who would take over writing the
news from our area.
at Cranbrook euchre party
Judy Hahn, Eleanor Stevenson,
Edna McLellan and Neil Hatt hosted
the Cranbrook card party on Friday
evening. Share-the-wealth winners
were John Subject and Yvonne
Knight. Eva Harrison won the
travelling lone hand prize.
Beryl and Lloyd Smith had the
high scores for the ladies and the
men. Not so lucky were Agnes
Harrow and Bill Craig. Tied for the
most lone hands for the ladies were
Iola Subject, Dorothy Dilworth,
Leota Thompson, and Viola Adams.
Margaret Peebles and Allison
Sleightholm were tied with the most
lone hands on a white card.
Tally card winners were Mary
Huether, John Subject, Eluned
McNair, Marion Harrison, Isabelle
Craig, Verne Crawford, Myrna

Tiger Moth
A vintage 1939 DH 82 A British Tiger Moth landed at Hemingway Aviation airstrip on Monday
morning. Owner Glen Morrison of Guelph brought the Second World War trainer in for regular
maintenance. He has owned the plane for about 16 years. He indicated this particular plane
was stationed in Britain during the war and it was designed to train pilots. Pilots were trained
on Tiger Moths before moving on to other planes. Morrison, left, and Ross Hemingway stand
