Obituaries
AUBREY TOLL
A well-known resident of the
Blyth area, E. Aubrey Toll passed
away at Seaforth Community
Hospital on Thursday, July 21,2005.
Mr. Toll, who was born near
Auburn 85 years ago, was an
internationally recognized breeder
of Clydesdale horses. The Toll name
had been at more than 2,000 shows,
auctions and fairs across Canada and
the United States over the past 40
years.
One of the biggest buyers of the
Clydesdales in America was August
A. Busch, the owner of Budweiser
Beer.
Mr. Toll was also an international
judge.
He married his wife, the former
Marie MacCrostie, an elementary
school teacher, in 1944.
Mr. Toll loved to sing and was a
member of the Blyth United Church
choir for many years.
Mourning his loss most deeply is
his wife, Marie. Aubrey was the
much loved father of Cheryl and
Tom Cronin of Blyth, Vaughn and
Marlene Toll of RR3, Blyth, Kerry
Toll and Greer Black of Calgary and
Avon and Al Corneil of RR2, Blyth.
He was greatly loved and will be
sadly missed as well by his 10
grandchildren, Michelle, Scott,
Greg, Bryce, Andrew, Kaitlyn,
Drew, Dane, Devon and Tallan and
by his five great-grandchildren.
He was the dear brother and
brother-in-law of Stewart and Leba
Toll of London, Amy MacCrostie of
Goderich and Carol MacCrostie of
Lucknow.
Mr. Toll was predeceased by his
parents, Fred and Laura Toll, a sister
Marjorie McDougall and three
brothers-in-law, Hugh and Ronald
MacCrostie and Ken McDougall.
There was no funeral home
visitation. The funeral service was
held at Blyth United Church on
Sunday, July 24, at 4 p.m. A private
family interment was held at Blyth
Union Cemetery on Monday.
Flowerbearers were Michelle.
Lauren, Matt and MacKenzie
McNichol and Kaitlyn Toll.
Pallbearers were grandsons,
Andrew Toll, Greg Toll, Bryce Toll,
Dane Corneil, Drew Corneil and
Scott Cronin.
Donations to the Blyth United
Church choir or to the Seaforth
Community Hospital Foundation
Continuing Care Unit would be
appreciated as expressions of
sympathy.
Funeral arrangements were
entrusted to the Falconer Funeral
Homes Ltd., Clinton.
GARY JOSLING
Mr. Gary Franklin Joshng, 61, of
Blyth and formerly of Brodhagen
passed away at Seaforth Community
Hospital, Seaforth on Tuesday, July
19, 2005.
He was the beloved husband of
Chris Josling. He was the loving
father of Darrell Josling and wife
Tausha of Stratford, Julie Josling of
Mitchell, Colleen Whitmore of Ajax,
Daniel Josling of Windsor and his
friend Heather Leeson and John
Worsley and wife Ann Marie
Thomson of West McGillivray. Mr.
Josling was the loving grandfather of
Josh. MacKenzie. Gracie and
Kaitlynn and dear brother of Muriel
Matheson and husband Dave of
Molesworth and June Phillips and
husband Jack of London.
He was predeceased by his parents
Frank and Lillian (Diegel) Josling.
Gary loved music and was a
wonderful dancer, singer and guitar
player. He enjoyed gardening,
camping, old westerns and family
barbecues. He was a creative and
innovative master carpenter,
furniture restorer and an excellent
wood carver.
Gary’s funeral service was held at
St. Peter’s Lutheran Church,
Brodhagen on Friday at 11 a.m. with
Pastor Christine Musser officiating.
During the service. Debbie Elligsen
sang The Holy City and Barb
Scherbarth spoke words of tribute to
Gary’s life.
Pallbearers were Darrell Josling,
Daniel Josling. John Worsley, Jim
Snider, Roy Harris and Charles
Scherbarth.
Interment was in St. Peter’s
Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the
Stratford and Area Volunteer Drivers
of the Canadian Cancer Society,
Community Care Access Centre or
Huron Hospice would be
appreciated.

ADA MAY CRAIG
Ms Ada May Craig of Hamilton
and formerly of Blyth. passed away
peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2005
at St. Peters Residence at Chedoke,
Hamilton. She was in her 93rd year.
Ada was a daughter of the late
Robert Craig and the late Ada May
McCutcheon. She is survived and
will be deeply missed by brother and
sisters, Roberta Simpson of
Brussels, Annie Wight of Listowel,
Bill and Isabelle Craig of Blyth and
Olive Faitz of Stoney Creek. She
will also be remembered by her
sister-in-law Ruth Craig, many
nieces and nephews and their
families.
She was predeceased by her
brothers and sisters, Agnes Craig,
Harvey and Margaret Craig, Velma
and Orval Cook. Gordon Craig,
Mary Craig, Robert E. and Margaret
Craig, David Craig, and her
brothers-in-law John Simpson,
George Pollard, Ken Wight and
Steve Faitz.
Friends were received at the Blyth
Visitation Centre, 407 Queen St.,
Blyth on Saturday, July 23 from 1
p.m. until the time of the funeral
service at 2 p.m-.
Interment was in Blyth- Union
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the
St. Peters Residence at Chedoke
would be appreciated as expressions
of sympathy.
Funeral arrangements were

BRIAN GEORGE HILTZ
Mr. Brian George Hiltz, of
Brussels, passed away at his
residence on Friday, July 22, 2005.
He was 69.
He was the beloved companion of
Joyce Ruland of Point Clark; dear
father of Randy and Cheryl Hiltz of
Listowel, Danny and Dianne Hiltz of
Gorrie, David and Joan Hiltz of
Shining Tree, Gerry Hiltz of
Tiverton, and Tim and Beverly Hiltz
of RR1, Atwood; grandfather of
Aaron, Jamie, Jared, Jeremy, Jason,
Kris and Shannon. Mitchell, and
Matthew; and great-grandfather of
Mason.
He is also survived by his wife
Marie Hiltz of Listowel, and his
step-mother Lillian Hiltz of Stayner.
Visitation was held at the Robert
Trench Funeral Home, Listowel on
Monday, July 25 from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m.. with a Masonic Memorial
Service at 6:45 p.m. The funeral
service was held at the funeral home
on Tuesday, July 26 at 11 a.m. Rev.
Jeff Hawkins officiated.
