vacation in the west were Lome and

Melford. Saskatchewan to visit with
Alex and Gail Glanville and the four

with family and friends dropping in
during the afternoon and evening to
celebrate his 60th.
Away working for the weekend
were Judy Lee, Mary Bernard and
Jo-Ann McDonald at a Grand
National Motocross race near
Tillsonburg. Surprisingly there was
no rain there on Saturday except a
20-minute splash in the evening.
Sunday was spotty off and on for
rain for the morning.
It was a weekend of challenges
and our camping out experience will
be laughed about for awhile.
Attacked by mosquitoes while in our
beds, horseflies the size of a quarter
and sand fleas biting our ankles
made us glad to be in our beds
Sunday night. It’s always great to
work with good friends to help
lighten the atmosphere and find the
humorous side of things.
While we basked in sunshine on
Saturday, 1 understand Walton and
areas were underwater. Everyone has
a water story and ours is the fact that
the water ran so hard and fast from
They would also like to welcome a

spent time at the beach as well.
A number of people from the area
attended the fish fry at the Legion on
Saturday evening.
We certainly had a million dollar
rain on Saturday. People in some
areas were beginning to wonder if il
was going to stop. As with other
times it rained this year, the amount
people received was varied. Amounts
from two inches to eight inches have
been reported.

the north right up and over our built-
up laneway. Only the second time in
28 years that we have seen the water
that high at our place.
There were reports that Walton
ball park was underwater.
Basements including Walton
Hall’s, suffered as well. Reports here
were seven inches at our place and I
hear higher numbers from others. I
guess we can stop hoping for rain.
