Robyn and Kevin Hardy of
Auburn welcomed baby Olivia,
Friday July l. Miss Hardy made her
debut in Clinton. Grandparents are
Roy and Ruth (Rock) Hardy of
Auburn and Dave and Sharon (Park)
Dawson of Dungannon. Robyn says
she'll be ready to celebrate
Dungannon’s I.50th. This is a special
baby sister for little 15-month old
Ellen. Congratulations to all.
Ball's Cemetery's 79th annual
memorial service was held Sunday.
July 3 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Henry
Huberts from Clinton-Seaforth
Presbyterian Church presiding.
Nancy Park was organist and Jim
Craig played the pipes both before
and after the service.
The board of trustees with some
help from the Nick Hill estate have
replaced the roof with a new red
cedar shingle one and volunteers
have worked hard on the inside as
well and have freshly painted the
interior The hard work and
volunteers have been greatly
appreciated by all those who have
taken in the new look. It has made a
big improvement in the church and
the trustees heard many favourable
remarks.
As the church is now a Heritage
Building, the board is required to
keep it as close to original as
possible. It has been 148 years since
the first burial.
Following the cemetery service
two daughters and two grand
daughters of the former Martha
Adams visited with Bernice
Anderson.- They spent their time
looking at school pictures and
reminiscing about their mother’s
youth.
Sheila and Sandy are from St.
Clements and Mississauga. They
were happy to see their mom’s
childhood home which is where
Sandy and Shirley Andrews live.
1 myself am still looking fora visit
with Bernice, a lovely lady who
knows more about Auburn than
most.
A couple of other lovely ladies
with whom I need a visit are
Marianne Smyth of Clinton and
Patricia Ham of Auburn’s old school
house.
This Dungannon 150th has kept
me pretty busy, but I can see the light
at the end of the tunnel.
Several Auburn residents were at
the Kenny Rogers concert in
Kincardine recently. Some lucky
folks were only seven rows from the
fropt and had a wonderful view.
Others were near the back but still
enjoyed the show.
Greg and Nancy Park attended the
Kingsbridge reunion last week. It
was the 100th anniversary of the
church and 40th anniversary of the
school.
Auburn Knox UCW was hosted by
Ann Vincent and Joyce Bean. Guest
speaker was Ann’s niece, Tatum
Mathers from Calgary who spoke on
her experiences teaching in a
Muslim school. Tatum was leaving
the next day at 4 a.m. for Calgary so
it was very much appreciated that
she was able to come to Auburn to
visit at the end of her busy schedule.
A stag and doe barbecue for
Jennifer Robinson and Andrew
Matheson was held in Belgrave on
Saturday, July 9. Jennifer is the
daughter of Bill and Susanne
Robinson - of sugar-bush fame. The
wedding will be Aug. 20.
A community shower is planned
for Ruth Anne Bakker on July 23 at
7:30 p.m. Ruth Anne is the daughter
of Marinus and Marg Bakker. Boxes
for a community gift are placed at

It was a Saturday double feature when the Blyth Festival Youth Workshops culminated in two
performances. The junior group presented Garden Destroyers, while the senior group
presented The Mysterious Mystery of the Murdered.... Moo. Sets were designed and
constructed by the groups. The performances were held at the old Church of God. (Vicky Bremner

Stickers and the post office. All are
welcome to attend.
A book of memoirs by F. Stewart
Toll titled The Wonder Of It All, has
found its way into my hands - and
while for the time being it is in the
hands of an old schoolmate of
Stew's and a friend of mine, I will
have it returned shortly and I intend
to enjoy it.
The book is a collection of
memories of Stew’s formative years
growing up in Auburn. The book is
available at Finchers in Goderich,
Auburn Post Office, The Citizen, and
the Village Book Shop, Bayfield.
There will be no service at Knox
United Church on July 17 because of
the planned power interruption that
