FROM BRUSSELS
Girls
return
wads of
cash
Amidst all the news reports, it’s
often the good deeds that go
unnoticed.
Ron Zamostnky. manager of the
Brussels LCBO, wanted to make
sure that didn’t happen for two
Brussels girls who demonstrated
honesty and good citizenship
recently.
Zamostnky said the nine-year-
olds, Eliza Dodds and Anissa
Wilson, came into the store on July
2 with a handful of money, saying
that it was all over the parking lot.
“There was about $300,” said
Zamostnky, adding that he and the
girls went back out and rounded up
another $100.
Zamostnky said that a little later
a man who had been a customer
earlier in the day, came in and said
he had lost some money, estimating
it at between $400 and $500.
The girls were given $20 for their
good deed.

Where there’s smoke ...
It was a pleasant evening for outdoor cooking on Sunday night. Among those busy flipping
chops at St. John’s Anglican pork chop supper in Brussels were, from left: Bill Clark, Doug
Dale, Ken Jones, Arnold DenDekker and Clarence McCutcheon. ('V7c/fyBren?nerphotoj
Our condolences are extended to
Mildred, Brian and Gail and family.
The Friday night supper of roast
pork was enjoyed by many. This
week is chicken wings and fries.
Don’t forget the fish fry on
Saturday at the Branch.
We are still looking for help on the
weekend of July 22, 23 and 24 for
the ball tournament. Set aside some
time to help please.

“Summer time and the living is
easy.”
Hum along now. you know the
words.
That’s the mood I’m in as 1 try to
concentrate on the work at hand.
We’re just back from 10 days
camping at Alliston’s Earl Rowe
Provincial Park and I’m finding it a
little difficult to get back into
normal.
The days of heat and humidity that
we’ve been having are best spent
near water and large cooling trees.
We lucked out with our holidays -
good swimming, cool biking, great
reading and wonderful nights full of '
stars of campfires.
Toss in a few fireflies, good
company, marshmallows, spider
dogs and the family, and life is very,
very good.
Despite the lack of rain, the
flowerbeds in Brussels are terrific.
Lots of folks are out taking evening
strolls and I’m sure enjoying the
view.
Don’t forget to register your
school age kids for Vacation Bible
School next week - they’ll enjoy
it.
Enjoy the “lazy, hazy, crazy days
of summer”.
Yes, of course, hum along with
that one too.
Take care.
Bye now, Betty G.W.
