Week eight of the Blyth U-l 1 soccer season had the

Brussels II upends Brussels I
This past Thursday Brussels I hosted their town rival
Brussels II. With a pair of ties and a win in the first three
meetings, the Brussels I looked to keep the upper hand
on the season series.
Team I started out strong and applied lots of pressure
but could not beat goalie Carl Dow. Midway through the
first half Team II player Kai Heimstra would score.
Shortly after, Heimstra increased the lead to 2. Just
before halftime he netted his third to really put the
pressure on Brussels I.
After a quick halftime Team I put out a power line to
try to get back in the game. Wyatt Ducharme cut into
the lead to narrow the gap. With pressure all
around the Brussels II net they could not close the
gap.
With less than five minutes left Team I made a
substitution to try to cut the lead. Dow iced the game for
Brussels II by netting a pair of goals to increase the
deficit to 4. Austin Johnson added another to make the
final score 6-1 for Brussels 11.
Despite the lopsided score it was a real close game and
both sides played extremely well.
