A Good 31 tkeraatician,
One evening recently, a number of
the boys gathered together andengag-
ed inn conversation. After a short tune
the conversation glided into hunting
and the amount of money made there-
by, One of the number, who is 'noted
for telling, 4eatretchers " .stated he at
one time went to the drug store to pur-
chase one ounce of skunk oil, for which
he was charged Teets. Thiuking the
price rather large, .he enquired what
they would pay providing he (welshed
them with some, They replied they
would pay him ?Gets. per oz. He said
he at once went to work and secured
some two pails which contained 24 gal -
Ions. He sold the two pails to the
druggist, securing $40 therefor. Our
reporter happened to be present dotted
down the figures and after the com-
pany dispersed, went to work to solve
the problem of how many ounces there
were in 24 gallons. Upon figuring it
up, he finds there were 084 ounces and
at the rate of ?Gets, peroz.,be just lost on
that deal $2'd.80. We might say that
our reporter believes this to be a casts
of poor mathematical work, on the side
of the noted "Stretcher."

here. Sides were chosen for the sup-
per by Mr. T. M. Carling and Mr. 0. S.
Doan of Clinton which resulted in favor
of Doau's side by five birds. Below
