mavor Bill Thompson were
appointed as the Morris-Turnberry
council representatives on the
Belgrave water committee.

committee.
The first meeting of the committee
was tentatively scheduled for
tonight, June 16.
Council also approved a bylaw
authorizing the signing of an
agreement for the Belgrave Water
Services with the Twp. of North
Huron
A public meeting was held at the
June 7 meeting of Morris-Turnberry
council for the zoning amendment
for part of Lot 2, Cone. ,12 in the
Morris ward.
The applicants, Leslie and Joanne
Stafford, wished to change the
zoning of the property from general
agriculture (AG1) to agricultural
small holding - special provisions
(AG4-23).
The subject property is 6.8
hectares and the area affected by this
amendment is 3.4 hectares and is
presently agricultural land with a
house trailer. The remaining part of
the property is natural environment.
Comments were received from the
Maitland Valley Conservation
Authority. The MVCA wanted the
rear and east side setbacks of 30 and
10 metres to be specified in the
bylaw and that sediment fencing be
placed a minimum of five metres
from the drip line.
Councillor Neil Warwick was
concerned about the rear-yard
setback and the entrance to the west
side of the barn. He asked if the
access for the lot had been checked
for site lines.
Chief building official Albert
Nauss indicated the proposal is to
use the present driveway.
Council passed a bylaw to approve
the zoning amendment.
***
A second public meeting was held
for a rezoning amendment to the
south part of Lot 11 of Con. 2 of the
Morris ward.
The applicants, Harvey and
Dianne Kuntz, wished to change the
property from general agriculture
(AG1) and extractive resources
(ER 1) to general agriculture - special
provisions (AG1-13).
The Huron County Planning and
Development Department
recommended approval of the
application as long as the provision
. making the minimum lot area for the
property having an AG1-13 zoning
be 40.5 hectares and that the area
zoned AG1 and natural environment
(NE1) be included in the calculation
of the lot area.
W'arwick said council wants
smaller non-agncultural lots and the
zoning to natural environment
restricts any building. He added that
if it is not a provincial significant
wetland, it only requires a zoning
amendment.
Council approved a bylaw for the
re-zoning of the property.
***
Council accepted the tender
submitted by Theo Vandenberk
Construction be accepted for the
Clark Bridge project at the tender
price of $52,543.42, which is
$23,543 over budget, but would be
covered by the savings from the
purchase of the tandem truck.
***
Council approved the proposal
from Gamsby and Mannerow Ltd.,
to proceed on the Clyde Line project
with estimated engineering costs of
$11,900 and an estimated cost of the
total project being $77,000.
***
After an examination of the
vehicle, council issued a cheque in
the amount of $191,573.70 for the
payment of the tandem truck.
The payment included the
undercoating cost of $125.
***
Councillor Lynn Hoy raised the
issue of Fisher Line as the people are
concerned about raising the road.
The people with the concerns
should contact O’Krafka.

the general accounts in the amount
of $126,351.07. Council approved
