This past week has been a busy
one. June seems to bring out our
social side and we’re all quite
prepared and very willing to gather
for many reason.
The Armstrong Aerodome was a
busy spot over the weekend. Talk
about entertainment to be able to
watch silently the graceful dance of
the small planes in the sky. Driving
out past Jim and Leona’s place on
Saturday night the air traffic was
very steady for the enjoyment of
many.
This is the 16th year for the fly-in
with 40 planes including five
Pietenpols and 180 plane lovers
coming to Brussels to enjoy the
hospitality.
The president of the Canadian
Recreational Aircraft Association
was very impressed with the runway,
the grass cutting job. the food and
that the firefighters got up to make
their breakfast.
Well done and thank you to the
Armstrongs.
History snuck right up on us this
week as the Mennonite Fellowship
celebrated in fine style their 25th
anniversary as a church in Brussels.
Time must fly as the memory clicks
in to the Matheson house becoming
the worship centre for the new
congregation.
Congratulations and thank you for
being part of our community.
Travel on was the mood for the
United folks on Sunday as they bid
farewell to our Golden Joan. A
ministry of five and a half years was
being celebrated. Lots of laughs, a
few tears and lots of memories were
share at worship and at a reception in
the afternoon.
Richard was able to join us for the
day making it a lot easier to see that
his gain is our loss.
So check out the area south of
London and you may just see
Richard and Joan out and about in
Melbourne and St. Thomas.
Blessings to you both. We've
enjoyed your company.
Family picnics were the order of
the day for many as well as checking
on dear old Dad and letting him
know that he really is appreciated.
So lots to do and see this past
week ' and that wasn’t even
mentioning the Legion fish fry.
Open Doors and sports events.
Have a good week.
Bye now, Betty G.W.
