Dinosaurs at WLS
The Walton Little School’s Acorns
have just finished a unit on dinosaurs
as well as the letter of the week.
The children learned about
herbivores and carnivores, how
dinosaurs lived and many other
interesting facts. This month they
will learn about clothing and will
have a clothing store set up in the
room. They will learn how to write
lots of clothing words.
The Stars have just finished a
month filled with great books. Most
were about things in the sky (eg.
moon/sun/clouds, etc.) They also
talked about bugs (dragonflies,
fireflies, caterpillars and butterflies).
FROM WALTON
Brewers
lose 2
The Walton Brewers ended their
tour-game win streak with two losses
this week.
On Tuesday evening they hosted
the Wroxeter Jrs. Paul Dolmage was
on the mound and got off to a great
start with the Brewers batting to a 5-
0 lead after five innings.
Unfortunately a string of bloop hits
and errors made it easy for the
Juniors to go ahead of the Brewers
for a final score of 8-7.
Steve Leonhardt went in for relief
for two winnings and Ron Strome
cracked one out-of-the-park, two-run
homer to earn the Brewers' other two
runs. Darrell Houston had two triples
to help the cause in the game.
The Brewers’ bad luck went to
Zurich with them on Sunday evening
when they were defeated 11-1 by the
Rangers.
Scott McDonald started on the
mound and was relieved by Scott
Leonhardt.
Steve Knight was two for two at
bat and the game ended with the
hydro going out just after the final
out of the game.
The women’s slo-pitch team played
Thursday evening in Walton with the
Wonders defeating the Chicksters.
The men's slo-pitch team, the
Walton Indians, played Wednesday
evening and defeated the
Jackhammer team.
Manns greet
