Time for the young at heart was
led by Marcia Campbell, then the
children went downstairs for Sunday
school. The wrap-up party day is
this Sunday at regular time.
The choir sang Out of the Depths.
O God. We Call to You.
The message was. Why Did You
Doubt? written by Barbara Brown
Taylor. It was the story of when the
disciples were in a boat out on the
water and Jesus came to them
walking on the water. It was a
doubting Peter who asked Jesus. “If
it is you. make me come to you.’’
Peter did walk on water, but when
the wind blew stronger his doubt
arose and he sank. Jesus saved Peter
but the question remained, “Why did
you doubt?”
People today have all experienced
times when they have doubted that
there is a God but through the Bible
and teachings of everyday life, they
have come to realize that God is
everywhere and works in mysterious
ways.
The offering was collected by
Murray Dennis and Neil McGavin.
It was coffee Sunday downstairs
following church and cake and
muffins were also served for the
social time.

The Walton Lillie School held, a
successful used clothing and
equipment sale at the Walton Hall on
Saturday.
Saturday was the wedding of
Shannon Craig and Dave Soontiens al
Duff's United Church. It was
beautifully decorated and the guests
were treated to the wonderful singing
voices of Sherrill Christian (Craig) in
solo, and with father-of-the-bride
Graeme Craig in duet. A meal and
reception was held at Seaforth
Community Centre.
Audrey Hackwell reports the Ryan
and Hackwell families opened their
curtains to a nice surprise Saturday
afternoon. A wedding scene was
taking place right before their eyes in
front of the Walton sign as
background at the entrance of the
little village. Poses were done of the
bride and groom. Shannon and Dave,
thinking of leaving with suitcase, etc.
in tow and also of them hitchhiking,
of course with their suitcases. All
makes for good fun in making
memories.
A fox, around the two-mile radius
of the village, has at times caused
quite a stir and entertainment. Two
young ladies walking down the side
of the road were joined on the other
side of the road by the curious
creature one night. A few nights later,
she was seen walking through many
backyards of the village.

On Sunday evening, she was
heading into Walton by our house,
carrying a dead groundhog that was
larger than her. Many cars stopped to
watch her but she was undeterred.
Slopping to rest every once in a while,
she must have been heading home to
her family with her possession.
She has been spotted fairly often
around our place but causes no
problems.
