It is evening. Twelve acquaintances have all gathered at the home of Simone Montgomery to conduct a
seance. They are all somehow connected to Simone's missing husband Riordan Montgomery who mysteriously
disappeared on a boating trip 4 years ago. His body was never recovered. Simone is hopeful tnat her
husband's ghost will contact her tonight so that she can finally be convinced of his death and move on with
her life. Many in the room do not believe Riordan is dead.
As Madame Devora is about to begin the ceremony, the power goes out. There is the sound of frantic
footsteps, doors opening, a scream, the faint sounds of a struggle followed by silence and the dull thump of
a body hitting the floor. When the power is finally restored, Simone is missing from the room. The rest of the
guests search for her throughout the house. She is eventually found...murdered.
Using the biographies of the characters present at the seance (that will be printed in the paper weekly) and
the clues (that will be given out at participating businesses) your job is to solve the case by finding the answers
to these three questions: What room did the murder take place in?
What was the weapon used in the murder?
Who is the murderer?

Note: New clues have been released!
LAURETTA MONTGOMERY-WATSON, (52) Riordan’s first wife, ran off with the local police
chief Smiley Watson when she found out Riordan had a gambling problem that was
weighing heavily on their finances. Later, the new couple returned to the small community
to reunite with Lauretta's elderly mother who needed an expensive surgery. Lauretta
implored Riordan (who had since re-built his massive fortune) for assistance but was denied
and her mother passed on later that year. To make ends meet Lauretta has taken a part-
time position at the local pharmacy where she dispenses prescription medications.
SMILEY WATSON, (53) after
being re-appointed as police
chief of the town when he and
Lauretta returned, was the key
investigator into the mysterious
death of Simone’s former
groundskeeper Eddie
MacPhee (the distant cousin of
Simone and Jimmy),
several months
investigation, and
After
of
no
cooperation from the parties
involved, Smiley built a case against Terrence Fields who
was later proved to be innocent and released. Smiley was
fired for his lousy detective work and now spends his days
as a private eye investigating accusations of adultery.
LIAM MONTGOMERY (31) is
one of Riordan and Lauretta’s
twin sons. He is lazy and
overbearing. His father's
money once saved him after an
incident in college with a young
girl. He dropped out of school
and has spent the ensuing
years pretending to work in the
family business. Liam has of
late been seen with Juliet Primbottom who has expressed
an interest in purchasing shares in the family business as
soon as Riordan’s death is “proven’’ by the seance.Simone Montgomery
