Obituaries Man injured in crash
COLIN MURRAY MASON
Colin Murray Mason passed away
peacefully at 5:06 a.m. on Saturday,
May 14. 2005 in his 18th year with
his family at his side, at Hamilton
Health Centre, as a result of a dirt
bike accident on April 16. 2005.
He was the beloved son of Marie
Clarke (Doug) of Kitchener and
Murray Mason (Jennifer) of Baden.
He was the dear brother of Brandon,
Alicia, Adam, Ryan and Jason. Colin
will be missed by his grandparents,
Nellie Mason, Adolf Grigaitis and
Danuta Grigaitis-Gawantka
(Gunter). Colin will be sadly missed
by many relatives and friends. He
was predeceased by his grandfather.

Colin always lived life to its fullest
and rarely went anywhere without.a
smile on his face. His last words to
his family were “I love you more.”
Colin, you will be in our hearts
forever.
Colin’s family received relatives
and friends from 2 - 4 and 7-9 p.m.
Monday at the Henry Walser Funeral
Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener.
Transfer was made to St. Matthew’s
Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. Tuesday,
May 17 followed by a funeral
service at 2 p.m. Cremation
followed.
As expressions of sympathy,
donations to Canadian Intensive
Care Foundation. Hamilton General
Hospital or the Heart and Stroke
Foundation of Ontario would be
appreciated by the family.

FRANK BRANDON CARDIFF
Frank Brandon Cardiff of
Brussels, passed away al Huronlea
Home for the Aged on Wednesday,
May 18. 2005.
Born in Grey Twp. on Sept. 10,
1919, Frank was in his 86th
year.
He was the beloved son of the late
Fred and Laura Cardiff. He was the
loved uncle of Anne Hiemstra of
Stratford and close friend of Gloria
McWhirter of Brussels, Bruce
Winteringham of Mitchell and
Krista Richmond of Brussels.
Mr. Cardiff was predeceased by
his brothers Clifford and Mack.
Friends were received by the
family from 7 - 9 p.m. Thursday at
the Schimanski Family Funeral
Home, Brussels, where the funeral
was conducted Friday. May 20 at 2
p.m. with Rev.Joan Golden
officiating.
Interment was in Brussels
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were fellow Legion
Comrades Ross Bennett, Cecil
Moore, Glenn Bridge, Charlie
Procter. Forrest Whittard and
George Adams.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made to
Melville Presbyterian Church, or the
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 218.

on the trails that day. The group was
returning to a friend’s residence
when one driver lost control. The
ATV left the roadway and rolled,
landing on the driver.
The 25-year-old North Huron man
was rushed off to a local hospital for
medical attention. He received facial
and head injuries, a sore shoulder,
and lost several teeth.
While the officers were
conducting the investigation they
smelt strong odour of alcohol
coming from the man’s breath and
demanded a breath test to determine
the quantity of alcohol in his system.
The doctor advised that due to the
mouth injury that the man could not
provide a breath sample. A blood
demand was read and a quantity of
blood has been obtained that has
been sent to the Centre of Forensic
Sciences for analysis.
Also on Sunday officers
investigated six crashes two of them
involving three vehicles while
another was a two-vehicle crash.' In
all three crashes minor injuries
occurred that were non-life
threatening.
Three more occurred last night
when drivers struck deer on the
road.
There were also traffic complaints.
On the Saturday shift 57 traffic
tickets were issued. 41 for speeding,
three seatbelts, five for disobey stop
signs, one careless, five insurance
issues, and one for improper muffler.
They also issued eight other traffic
warnings.
The first two-day shifts of the
holiday weekend officers have
issued 109 traffic tickets most for
speeding violations.
