Zoellyn Onn and LeeAnn Riley have known each other since public school, but it was only when they began working together that they became friends and learned they shared a common interest. “We were at work and were talking about how much we liked sewing, fabric and making our own clothes,” said Onn. “Basically, I’d always wanted to open my own store and we both had the same ideas, about having something affordable for everybody, a place where people could shop and New to you Zoellyn Onn, left, and LeeAnn Riley have opened ZeaLous Clothing in Blyth. And with a little ingenuity and creativity, much of what comes in is used by the women. From tie skirts to tie-dyed, the pair have found a way to transform old and unwanted to funky and fun. Onn, who was taught to sew by her mother, and Riley, who attended the International Academy of Design for a time, enjoy finding innovative ways to use the items they receive. “It’s all about recycling,” said Riley. planned to review it.
