This was a non-budgeted item. The board was also seeking the same amount of funding from South Huron and from Bluewater coun cils. *** Council approved the tender from MSO Construction of Etobicoke for the the application of surface treat ment on roads within' the municipal ity. The tender was for $104,957.94, which was approximately $23,000 under budget^ Public works co-ordinator John Forrest recommended they extend the tender in order to tar and chip another 1.5 km of Brandon Road, which would cost approximately $23,000. *** With time running out, council cannot decide as to whether or not a chainlink fence should be used to surround a skateboard park in the Seaforth ward. A location at the Seaforth arena has been selected with a cost of approximately $6,600 to do the nec essary including the chainlink fence. Councillor Larry McGrath said he could not vote for the proposal as it is not where the kids want it to be. He predicted that within six weeks the kids will be back skateboarding on the downtown streets. Council voted 6-5 in favour of the motion, with Seili voting against the motion to make it a 6-6 tie, thus defeating the proposal. The mayor said council promised the group they would have a skate board park for the summer. That’s about two months away. •"' “If we don’t have a solution in two months. I’m going to go and kick some ass.” said Seili. *** Council proceeded with the ten dering for a new road grader which has been budgeted for. *** Council approved the payment of accounts for the period as of April 27, totalling $246,302.44.
