Brussels Medical Centre may re-open in the near future The medical clinic in Brussels may be occupied in the near future. Nothing is definite at this time, Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance recruiter Gwen Devereaux stressed, but added the Brussels medical clinic office has been refurnished. It is ready for when physicians come for site visits. They can be shown what is available at the clinic. Devereaux added it is not known whether it will be a physician or a nurse practitioner who will attend the clinic. She indicated it is hoped that the establishment of the family health team in Seaforth can help lead to physicians being attracted to the area and set up a practice. One of the first 52 family health team (FHT) sites to be established in Ontario will be based in Seaforth. Seaforth will be one of two in Huron County and one of five in the Huron-Perth area. Goderich is the other site in Huron County. Huron-Bruce MPP Carol Mitch ell made the announcement on April 15 at the Community Care Access Centre in Seaforth. They were in Toronto this week to get additional details as to the workings of the FHT. Devereaux said it could be another couple of months before things are finalized.
