Allan Edgar and Vera Hesselwood split, the share-the- wealth. Winners at euchre were: high lady, Viola Adams; high man, Vera Hesselwood; low lady, Anna Elliott; low man, Kathy Bridge; most lone hands, Helen Dobson, Isabelle Craig, Allan Edgar. Fourteen other people were lucky tally winners. All of the proceeds from the evening goes to the Canadian Cancer Society. Elections were conducted by Comrades Glenn Bridge and Rick McDonald. Those elected include: president, Norm Dobson; first vice- president. Jo-Ann McDonald; second vice-president, Allyson Cardiff; secretary, Sandra Josling; executive, Greg Wilson, Andy Overholt, Mike Dauphin, Mabel Glanville, Julie Harrison. The position of treasurer was appointed to Judy Lee. A little sweetheart and two big ones flew in from the West last week and are making Dave and Jeanette Boynton smile a lot. Miss Erin has successfully given the Grandparent Boyntons a reason to talk to toys, chat at deep levels to an infant and read books they didn’t know existed. Brussels Agricultural Society part of District 8 of the Ontario Association was pretty pleased with the performance of their Ambassador on Saturday night in Howick. Eleven young people representing the area fairs, from St. Marys and Exeter to Dungannon and Listowel, showed the judges their poise and confidence. Candice McLellan, the Brussels Ambassador, charmed the folks at the interviews and with her speeches, arid was named the winner for District 8. Good work Candice. The Huronlea volunteers are at it again. They’re serving lasagna for lunch on May 6 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. To keep life interesting they have baking and plants for sale and door prizes to keep you alert. So come to Huronlea, celebrate Mother’s Day and help the auxiliary buy a sanitizer. Mother’s Day is fast approaching so get your plans together and the flowers ordered. She’ll love you even more.
