Goderich artist Linda Wiebe is the
featured presenter at this month’s
Sallows Salon, to be held next
Friday, April 29 at the Reuben R.
Sallows Gallery, located in the
Goderich Public Library.
The events run from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Admission is free.
Wiebe’s presentation will focus on
the prints of Tom Pritchard which
are currently on display at the
Sallows Gallery. She will discuss the
techniques Pritchard used to make
his prints, and how they compare
with other print-making techniques.
She will also give audience
members a chance to do some
printmaking themselves.
Following Wiebe’s presentation,
Gallery director John Thompson
will engage audience members in a
conversation about how elements
like biography, geography, choice of
subject, age of the work, and
ownership affect our response to,
and level of interest in, the work of
artists like Tom Pritchard and
Reuben Sallows.
These talks are being presented as
part of the current show of drawing,
prints, and painting by the late Tom
Pritchard (1878-1968). The show of
Pritchard’s work is a joint effort of
Heritage Goderich and the Reuben
R. Sallows Gallery. The show
opened officially on April I and runs ,
until the end of May. The works orc
display come from the collections of
local residents and organizations, as
well as the Huron County Museum.
The Reuben R. Sallows Gallery is
located on the second floor of the
Goderich Public Library. The
Gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m.,
Tuesday to Saturday. The phone
number of the Gallery is 524-9261.
