for visiting deer hunter
A Maidstone, Ontario man who
shot at a deer from a Huron County
roadway has been fined $1,000 and
banned from hunting for a year.
Antonio Dezorzi, who pleaded
guilty, was also given a one-year
probation order, during which time
he must retake the Ontario Hunter
Education Program. His shotgun
was forfeited to the Crown and will
be destroyed.
Court heard that on Nov. 2 during
the week-long controlled deer hunt,
a man was seen getting out of a
vehicle and shooting at a deer from

case in Ontario Court of Justice,
Goderich on April 14. The public is
encouraged to protect Ontario’s
natural resources by reporting
violations.

department has moved to Clinton
and the Jacob Memorial Building,
part of the old Huronview complex.
The new facility will give the staff
considerably more room to operate.

Huron County Health Unit
expects to hire two full-time and one
part-time employees for a new “stop
smoking program”.
The additional staff will be paid
for with a $264,000 grant from the
provincial government expected to
be announced soon. The grant
would pay 100 per cent of the cost __ .and renovated. Since the Early Years

Dirt bike stolen
from Morris Twp. shed
Huron County OPP report a dirt
bike was stolen from a Morris
Township residence.
On -April 17 at 12:45 p.m. an
officer was called to a residence on
Cranbrook Line in Morris-
Tumberry regarding a theft. The
officer learned sometime overnight
a person entered an unlocked shed
when the door was left open. The
culprit then stole a red 2003 Honda
CR85 motorcycle with Ontario plate
No. 65CT3.
Huron OPP is continuing their
investigation into this case. If you

MAN CHARGED ASSAULT
OVER DOMESTIC INCIDENT
On April 14 at 7:15 p.m. OPP
were contacted about a domestic
situation at a residence on North
Street in Morris-Turnberry.
A married couple was at their
residence when an argument ensued
over driving issues. The man, who
was under the influence of alcohol at
the time, grabbed the woman and
assaulted her. The 38-year-old male
was arrested, and later released
after being charged with assault. He
will attend court in Wingham on
June 16.
PROPERTY STOLEN FROM
GARAGE BREAK-IN - ACW
On April 16 at 2:15 p.m. OPP
were contacted about a break-in on
Belgrave Road in ACW.
The owner told police that
someone in the last three weeks had
forced open a garage on the
property. Once inside the garage
$1,800 worth of tools were stolen.
Taken were a Husqvarna chainsaw,
three-ton hydraulic jack, blue
wheelbarrow, 5HP Campbell
Huesfieid air compressor and a
Mastercraft 4HP push lawnmower.
