Bruce Shaw roasting for United Way
Long-time Exeter resident, former
mayor and past principal in several
county high schools, Bruce Shaw,
has consented to a public roasting.
He will be roasted in front of an
audience of hundreds of people
during a fundraising dinner for the
Huron United Way this spring.
“The reason I have agreed to
besmirch myself in this manner is
because the event is for a very good
cause and it will be a lot of fun!”
says Shaw.
The evening of hilarity will take
place on Tuesday, May 17 starting at
6 p.m. at the South Huron
Recreation Centre. All proceeds will
go to support the Huron United Way
and its funded agencies. Tickets are
$50 each and are available by calling
524-7900.
Executive director Kimberley
Payne says, “Bruce has been a
terrific sport about all of this. Under
the direction of personable roast
master Bill Brady and some of
Bruce’s friends and acquaintances,
who will roast him unmercifully,
you will hear many sordid details
about the this life of this interesting
guy.”
The Huron United Way is a local
non-profit agency investing in
Huron County through its 12 funded
agencies. For more information,
please contact the Huron United
Way at 519-524-7900 or e-mail
