THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, APRIL 21, 2005.Obituaries MURRAY ROSS HUETHER Murray Ross Huether of Brussels, passed away peacefully at Huronlea Home tor the Aged, on Friday. April 15. 2005. Born in Grey Twp. on Aug. 18, 1923, Murray was in his 82nd year. He was the beloved husband of Mary (McDonald) Huether, dear father of Brian Huether and his wife Dianne of Brussels; Dave Huether and his wife Angela of Brampton; Majestic Women’s Institute names new executive The Majestic Women’s Institute met in the Brussels Library on Wednesday. April 13 at 12:30 noon. There were 13 members present and five guests. After a delicious dinner the regular and annual meetings were held. The Ode and Mary Stewart Collect were repeated in unison. Kathy Bridge, the president, gave a reading and welcomed everyone. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports and correspondence were read. The Alzheimer’s Society is having an information meeting in the OMAF building in Clinton on April 18 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. and on April 19 it is having a breakfast at the Betty Cardno building. If going, make a reservation. Lucy Hesse is having a meeting on April 19 at 1:30 p.m. to make out the 2005-2006 program. On April 20 and the third Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. there is a class to learn to make scrapbooks at the Wingham Salvation Army Church. The ACWW Church service will be held in the Gome United Church Joyce Tipple and her husband Roger of Burlington and Joan Ritchie and her husband Gary of Markham. He was the dear brother of Marie McTaggart of Brussels and brother- in-law of Isabell Riehl of Cambridge. Mr. Huether was also loved by his grandchildren Sandy Huether and friend Ken Hopper, Jon Tipple and hi§ wife Jocelyne, Sheri Bouwman and her husband Jeff, Sarah Tipple, Jeff and Kevin on April 24 at 10:30 a.m. To wind up o the Cancer Canvass there will be a casserole supper followed by euchre on April 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Brussels Library. Cost is $6 and proceeds go to the Cancer Society. May 31 is the District Annual in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Milverton at 9 a.m. It is potluck and bring your own dishes. The Guelph Area WI and 4-H are having a celebration at the Milton Heritage Park in recognition of 4- H’s 90lh anniversary. This is on July 9 from noon - 5 p.m. A Quilts, Quills and Bears Show Steckle to stick with Liberals despite scandal In response to an article in the April 12 London Free Press, Paul Steckle, the Member of Parliament for Huron-Bruce, confirmed his loyalty to the Liberal Party of Canada and his intention to seek the party’s nomination for the next general election. Steckle, the four term Liberal incumbent stated. “I was tremendously surprised to learn that I am considering a run at the Conservative nomination. 1 hope they understand that I don’t even Huether. and Chris and Kaitlin Ritchie. The two 4-H leaders were absent so gifts will be sent to them. The following officers of the Majestic WI were installed by Leone Forter of Fordwich: past president, Kathy Bridge; president, Ruth Baer; first-vice president, Cathrine Campbell; treasurer, Yvonne Knight; secretary, Leona Armstrong; law. To me, these are the actions of an honest and sincere leader and not of someone who has something to hide or who is trying to politicize the regrettable actions of what could be a very small rogue group.
