FROM WALTON
There was a Saturday evening jam session held at the Walton hall to raise funds to make
improvements to the hall. A Trillium grant $37,000 has been received in order to make the
improvements which include a new furnace, exterior siding, insulation and windows. Work is
expected to begin in about six weeks. The community has to raise about one third of the cost.
Over $1,000 was raised Saturday. (Vicky Bremner photo

NOTICE TO DOG OWNERS
IN THE TOWNSHIP OF
NORTH HURON
It was an absolutely wonderful
evening at the Little Bit O’Branson
dance at the Walton Hall. Murray
and Sherry McCall exemplified
outstanding community spirit by
organizing this old-tyme family
dance with a cast of 14 vocalists and
musicians entertaining the over 100
in attendance to benefit the Walton
Hall.
Walton’s own local talent Keith
and Gloria Wilbee, Phyllis Mitchell,
Graeme Craig and young Sean
Mitchell entertained along with
Walton friends Ken Scott, Jack and
Nancy Storey, Richard and Len
Lobb, Graham Bowker, Marie Flynn
and John Zettel. Two of Sherry’s
stepdancing students performed
along with Sherry a few stepdancing

everyone. Young Sara Elligsen and
Carlene Bremner did an excellent
performance. Special solo
performances by Nancy Storey and
Laura Elligsen were also featured.
The night began with a song
written and sung by Gloria Wilbee
about coming to the Walton Hall
Tonight and having our own Little
Bit O’ Branson entertainment. The
crowd enjoyed the musical mix of
just instruments playing, special
songs of the individual performers,
the waltzes on the violins, celebrity
performances by Patsy Cline (aka
Gloria Wilbee) and Elvis Presley
(aka Jack Storey). It was truly a
memorable night enjoyed by
everyone there. It will be the talk of
Walton for awhile.

an Ontario Trillium grant. The
Ontario Trillium Foundation, an

receives annually $100 million of

With a new facelift and furnace the
