WALTON
Congratulations to the Brussels
Optimists on hosting a successful
auction on the weekend. Monies
raised benefit the Optimists
childhood cancer campaign as well
as Brussels and area community
betterment.
Welcome home to Bob and
Dorothy Dalton who have spent the
winter in Florida. Bob has been a
patient in Wingham hospital and we
wish him a speedy recovery.
Welcome back to Susan
MacDonald who has returned from a
visit with her sister in Calgary.
Visiting with Clyde and Cathy
McClure is Cathy’s mother Gladys
Cornish, from Tiverton. Clyde
reports it’s a real change having two
women in the house.
Vai Shortreed reports having a
great time in Leduc, Alberta with the
broomball team, the Hitmen, who
competed in the Canadian Juvenile
broomball championship.
Also going aiong-to cheer on Matt
Shortreed (coach) and the team were
Krista Shortreed, Julie Moffatt,
Fred, Heidi, Jennifer and McClure
and Aarop Bakker. Team members
include Adam McClure and Steven
McNichol from Walton.
The McClure family had a chance
to visit with Ray McClure while
there.
Valerie and Julie travelled to
Claireholm to visit with a friend of
Julie’s at the friend's family ranch.
They toured around that area for the
day and went to Watertown, a village
near the mountains where mountain
goats roamed the streets freely.
At Pincher’s Creek, they saw rows
and rows of wind turbines. They had
a great time away.
Gathering to celebrate Marie
McGavin’s birthday on Saturday

quarter-mile trip with checkpoints
along the way.

of the day with the top prize of a new
